We are excited to announce that we will be hosting a Brookwood Take Over event with the Gwinnett Stripers on March 27th, 2026. This is a night dedicated to our association and the Brookwood Community! We want to fill Cool Ray Field and show our love for Brookwood and for the Stripers! It is also opening night for the Gwinnett Stripers as they take on the Red Bird. Which means Friday night fireworks!!

Single game tickets are not for sale for the public yet, but you are able to buy them today through our promotion link https://www.gofevo.com/event/Brookwoodathletic73. A portion of every ticket sold, will go back to our organization so we can keep improving our park!

As a bonus, no games will be scheduled that night so all of our families can attend!!

As part of Braves Country, Brookwood Recreation 7U players were invited to participate in a special event at Truist Park. The kids (and Coaches) had a great day living out their dreams of playing in a big league park.

A big thank you to Braves Country Baseball and Softball for inviting us out and we hope to have the opportunity for more players in the coming seasons.

Softball Age Range Changes

By Chris Kelly 06/24/2025, 1:15pm EDT

Beginning with the Fall 2025 season, Brookwood Recreational Softball, along with the other Gwinnett parks, will change the age eligibility for softball to align with major sanctioning bodies of fastpitch softball (USA Softball, USSSA, USFA, etc.)

The change is being made to better align players with their school year (grade or graduation year) instead of birth year and to create consistency across organizations. This shift moves the age determination date to September 1 (previously was January 1). For most players, the change in cutoff date for age determination will not impact the division they would have expected to play in this fall. However, for players with birthdates late in the year (after September 1), they will have an opportunity to remain in their current age division instead of having to move up. When you register your player, they will automatically be placed in the division that aligns with the new determination guidance.

The age groupings for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 are as follows:

6U (Teeball): 9/1/2018-8/31/2020

8U (Peewee): 9/1/2016-8/31/2018

10U (Minor): 9/1/2014-8/31/2016

12U (Major): 9/1/2012-8/31/2014

14U (Junior): 9/1/2010-8/31/2012

18U (Senior): 9/1/2006-8/31/2010

Please note this does NOT impact baseball age determinations - the change is only for softball.
